What is the process to get a custom board made?

  • Fill out the order form on the website or come and visit us in our Torquay factory for a chat.
  • We will get in contact and we will provide you with a quote, turnaround time estimate and a design following our conversation.
  • If you are happy to go ahead we please request a 50% deposit to lock the order in.
  • The board gets shaped, glassed, filler coated and sanded (and, if requested, gloss coated and polished). All these processes take their time (which varies from board to board) so we can’t, and don't want to, rush boards out.
  • When the board is ready to be collected will get in touch. Outstanding payment will be sorted then. For boards being delivered we ask for full payment prior to postage.
  • Super important: before getting in the water, we recommend that you wait 2 weeks after the board was glassed to allow the resin to fully cure. Big tease, but it is for the best.
  • Go surfin’ !

Price of the boards?

Starting prices can be found in the "Price List" page. The starting price depends on the length of the board and includes basic tints/pigments, standard plywood stringer and matte finish for a PU-Polyester board.
Additional features (cedar or multiple stringers, marble resin artwork, pin-lines, resin panels, gloss finish, fabric inlays, glassed-on fins, resin leash loops, alternative materials, etc…) come at an additional cost and the price depends on the specific request. Please feel free to get in touch with us for a more accurate quote for your custom board.

NOTE: Prices are inclusive of GST.

Turnaround time?

The turnaround time for a custom board varies depending on demand and time of the year. Expect a 3-10 weeks’ range. Typically, winter is quiet compared to spring and summer.
You will be provided with a more accurate turnaround time before your custom order is finalized.

Does the board come with fins?

The prices listed are for surfboards only, but we are happy to source fins for you.
We work closely with our friends from Glide Fins, a Torquay-based fin company manufacturing top-quality fibreglass fins. All the fins models from Glide have been developed in collaboration of world-class surfers and surfboard shapers, many of which operate and surf around Torquay.
We have been riding Glide for a few years as well, and our surfboards are tuned having in mind the fins that are going to complement them, so we will be more than happy to help you choosing the best fin !

Available colours?

We directly mix most of our tints, so we can get pretty close to any colour shade. The majority of our boards are coloured by mixing pigments or tints directly in the resin, but we also offer fades and airbrushing designs.
